IMPORTANT If you download an updated indicator it is important to uninstall the old version prior to importing the new version. Please see the section on removing indicators.
Downloading & Installing
Go to the download section on the website. You will find all of our available downloads.
After downloading TraderWerks indicators, start NinjaTrader.
- Go to Control Panel
- Click on File
- Select Utilities
- Import NinjaScript.
Browse to and select the downloaded indicator.zip file and click on Open to begin the import process.
A Word About NinjaTrader 7 R4
Our indicators ONLY work with versions of NinjaTrader that have been released as release 4 or later. Take a look at the image to the left. Selecting the “Help” menu and then the “About…” menu will return this screen. The last digit is the release number. NinjaTrader 7.0.1000.4 is the version number, and the 4 represents the release number. By looking at this dialog you can make sure you can install our indicators.
Updating TraderWerks Indicators
If you receive an email about updated indicators you may have purchased, or if you check the ‘Latest’ section and found an updated indicator, follow the instructions found above under Downloads.
Indicator Removal
- Go to Control Panel
- Click on File
- Select Utilities
- Select Remove NinjaScript Assembly.
Select the previous TraderWerks indicator assembly and click remove. NinjaTrader may sometimes say it has to restart for the changes to take effect. If so, restart NinjaTrader. Next follow the above instructions under NinjaTrader import.
Sometimes when indicators have changed, it may affect your charts and templates. may have been changed enough to affect the plots on your current charts. We suggest that you remove the updated indicator from your chart and then reapply it. If the chart had been saved as a template please save it again with the same name.
Resolving import errors by looking at the trace file
After using the brute force method, hit F5 and you will know if it worked, as there are no errors. If you do get errors, try to remove the conflicting indicator. Can be done using the trace file.
Just go to “MyDocuments” -> NínjaTrader (7) -> trace, and open the trace file of today with the text editor. Read the tracefile and it will tell you, which was the offending indicator.
